The House of Ghazala Bukhari · Islamabad
Ghazala Bukhari Pakistani Fashion Designer in Islamabad
Pakistani heritage, reimagined as wearable art.
Ghazala Bukhari is an Islamabad-based fashion designer and the founder and creative director of the Ghazala Bukhari fashion house. Her work brings together textile artistry, traditional Pakistani craftsmanship, contemporary silhouettes and a deeply personal approach to luxury fashion.
Formally launched in 2017, the label has presented internationally through Pakistan Fashion Week London, APPNA in the United States and Boulevard One in Dubai, while continuing to develop its creative identity from its atelier in Bani Gala, Islamabad.
The Fashion House
Rooted in Pakistan.
Created with identity.
Ghazala Bukhari is built on the belief that fashion can carry more than beauty. It can carry memory, culture, craftsmanship and identity.
From hand-finished bridal and occasion wear to distinctive designer shawls, the house explores the relationship between traditional Pakistani textile language and contemporary dressing.
Fabrics, colour, embroidery, motifs, silhouette and finishing are considered as interconnected parts of every design rather than separate decorative elements. This approach gives Ghazala Bukhari pieces their refined character while allowing the cultural story behind the work to remain visible.
Today, the Bani Gala atelier serves clients seeking bridal couture, luxury prêt, formal and occasion wear, signature shawls and personalised designer consultation in Islamabad and beyond.
The Design Philosophy
“To celebrate our culture, traditions, motifs, colours and stories through wearable art.”
— Ghazala Bukhari
This philosophy remains at the centre of the house: preserving the emotional richness of Pakistani craft while allowing it to evolve through modern textile design, contemporary cutlines and refined styling.

Meet the Designer
Ghazala Bukhari
Artist first. Designer by expression.
Ghazala Bukhari's relationship with design began long before the formal creation of her label. Art, nature, colour and textiles shaped her creative vocabulary and eventually led to advanced study in Fine Arts with a major focus on Textile Design at Fatima Jinnah Women University.
Her academic and artistic foundation informs the way she approaches fashion today. Rather than treating embroidery or surface decoration as an afterthought, she develops garments through an understanding of textile, colour composition, print, embellishment, proportion and movement.
Her work has become particularly associated with designer shawls, heritage-inspired handwork, formal occasion wear and bridal pieces that balance Pakistani tradition with a contemporary point of view.
From the Islamabad atelier, Ghazala continues to develop the house as a distinctive Pakistani fashion identity: personal in its approach, rooted in craft and increasingly connected to a national and international clientele.

A Signature of the House
More than a shawl.
A piece of wearable art.
Shawls occupy a distinctive place in Ghazala Bukhari's design language. They provide a canvas for colour, textile artwork, motifs, embroidery, borders and traditional craftsmanship to come together in a single statement piece.
From refined digital textile compositions to richly hand-worked collector pieces, the signature shawl represents the house's wider philosophy: preserving cultural character while presenting it through a contemporary luxury lens.

Where the idea becomes the garment.
Luxury at Ghazala Bukhari is defined not only by the finished piece, but by the thinking and craftsmanship that lead to it.
Inspiration
A design begins with a mood, story, cultural reference, colour or textile idea.
Textile & Colour
Fabrics, print, colour combinations and surface treatments establish the visual foundation of the piece.
Motif & Embroidery
Embroidery placement, borders and embellishment are developed as part of the overall composition.
Silhouette & Fit
The textile is translated into a silhouette that considers movement, proportion and the occasion for which it is intended.
Finishing
Final details, trims, borders and finishing bring the garment together as a complete Ghazala Bukhari piece.
An early record of the Ghazala Bukhari journey.
In 2019, You! magazine by The News International profiled Ghazala Bukhari as an Islamabad-based designer, documenting the label's 2017 formal launch, Pakistan Fashion Week London debut, textile design background, signature shawls and international showcases in the United States and Dubai.
